Drops Nepal is a heavier version of Drops Lima, both wool/alpaca blends with dynamic mixed colors.  This yarn is an easy classic yarn to work with, and it can be felted with proper heat and friction.  Nepal is perfect for beginners or for your simple color work patterns.  Projects in this yarn have a rustic stitch definition and we think it is just a great basic staple. This is one of Garnstudio's most popular yarns for a reason, it's soft, sturdy, and knits up with ease.

I just love this yarn! Pleasant to knit with and keeps you warm too.

My all time favorite yarn

I love everything about Drops Nepal. It has a very natural look to it because of its matte finish with a very subtle silky sheen. It is a pleasure to knit with (not too slippery, does not split). As mentioned in another review, it is not soft in a fluffy way, but it is very soft to the touch. Not itchy at all!

It has a great stitch definition, which makes it a perfect choice for cable patterns. It is also fine enough for simple stranded patterns. Knitted items hold shape well. I have made many hats and mittens in Nepal and they still look (and fit) great after years of use. It does felt a bit over time (depending on use and wear), but for hats and mittens for example that is a good thing - it makes them even warmer. Nepal is probably perfect for cardigans or coats, but might be too warm and too thick for sweaters or scarves. I am currently making sofa blankets in textured patterns and they feel very warm and squishy, and the yarn brings out the patterns so well.

My favorite color is the off white, again because it is very natural looking (not as yellowish as other off whites!). The off white looks great combined with cool colors, such as the grey greens or light grey.
