We usually ship all orders via the United States Postal Service. Sometimes we use other carriers.
Typically orders shipped with USPS Priority Mail are processed and ready for shipping within 24 hours (Weekends/Holidays 48-72 hours, sale periods it could be up to 3 days) after the order has been placed.
Once the package has left our warehouse you can track the progress of your shipment. Priority Mail is slightly more expensive than Ground/First Class Mail, but ensures faster shipping times if you need an order sooner. Care is taken to make all packages neat and correct.
Ground/First Class packages are usually shipped within 72 hours but may take longer (up to 4 - 10 workdays). During sale periods this wait time may be longer due to large order volumes.
Cost for shipping in the US are $6.95 flat rate for Ground/First Class and $9.95 flat rate for Priority Mail.
We also have a single skein shipping service with a flat rate cost of $3.65
Cost for shipping to Canada varies by size and weight of the order, and starts at $9.95
Please note: sometimes international orders will incur customs or import fees that you will asked to pay upon delivery.
Nordic Mart cannot be held responsible for these extra fees nor for lost, stolen, damaged, mis-delivered or delayed packages. Issues with missing packages need to be addressed with USPS first.
You may return most items in their original condition with labels intact within 60 days of delivery for a full refund. We cannot issue refunds for skeins missing labels, that have been opened or partially used, or have a smell when we receive them. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item). If the order was delivered to you correctly but you wish to return it, the cost of return shipping falls to the customer. This includes issues with the color of the yarn, or if you accidentally ordered an incorrect yarn.
We refund the cost of all items returned minus the shipping cost once we receive the return to our warehouse. Please use a return shipping method with a tracking number so you can keep track of when we receive the package.
NOTE Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on needles and pattern books. If you return a yarn you bought on SALE, you will receive store credit for the returned items instead of a refund. Also, yarn that has been stored indoors where people smoke cannot be returned.
The return process is really simple.
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button and follow the instructions on the screen. For processing the refund we will need the order number along with the preferred email address for communications.

Please attach your name, email, or order number somehow in or on the package to help us quickly process your return once we receive it. It is to your benefit to ship via a trackable method so you can ensure it arrives to use.
In most cases you will receive a refund within 5 - 10 business days of giving your package to the return shipper however, in some rare cases it may take longer. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
